Radio 2000 gives back for Madiba
Johannesburg 23 July 2012-Radio 2000 the leader in providing listeners with live coverage as it happens took part in the 67 minutes initiative on the 18th of July as part of celebrating Nelson Mandela’s birthday.
Together with the city of Ekurhuleni and Botswana High commission 2000 took to Wannenburg Clinic in the Makawuse informal settlement to feed the community.
Bertha Charuma broadcasted from 09h00-12h00, she was then followed by host of the ‘The experience ‘Ernest Pillay who took over from 12h00-15h00.
The entertainment was provided by South African Artist ‘The Soil, Malik, and Brian Temba’ who had the crowed screaming for more.
The communities of Makawuse were provided with blankets, tinned foods and baby cloths.
Furthermore Radio 2000 personalities Angela Ludek and Doug Anderson were crossing live from Meveso were the communities were also celebrating Tata Mandela’s birthday.
‘It is encouraging to see the community of South Africa step forward and assist under privileged communities, this should not end with one day, we should endeavor to assist people in need everyday’, Said, Carlito Sheikh, Radio 2000 Station manager.
