The Lilizela Tourism Awards aims to recognise and reward the highest levels of excellence in tourism in South Africa. The name is derived from the Zulu word “Lilizela’’ which means celebrating and praising by ululating when someone has done well. The Lilizela Tourism Awards is an annual event that kicks off with provincial events throughout Tourism month each year culminating in the national event.
These awards recognise and reward tourism players and businesses who work passionately and with pride to deliver a world class product and service and whose delivery grows South Africa’s global destination competitiveness.
Radio 2000 presenter, David Mashabela broadcasted the Sunday Session show from 6pm – 9pm from the awards gala.
MC’s for this glittering gala evening were Bonang Matheba and Jason Greer and guests were entertained by MiCasa, Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and Mzansi Youth Choir.
